Marc's family members love to spend time together. Here's a short clip of Thanksgiving 2006, when we all met at Marc's sister's house for a delicious feast.

Our Background

Marc's Family | Megan's Family

I was born in Washington State. I am the last of seven children and I grew up doing things like going camping, taking long road trips, and going to big family reunions where I played with my cousins and ate good food from family recipes.

Being the last child of seven, I often found myself tagging along with my brother or my sisters wherever they went. We invited a lot of people into our home for things like high school parties and church activities, and because I wasn't old enough to stay up very late, I would pretend to go to bed, then sneak through the house in my pajamas, trying to see what everybody was laughing and talking about.

My happiest memories of my family come from the times when everybody was in the same room, laughing and telling stories. Everyone in my family seemed to be born with a good sense of humor.

Sometimes that sense of humor spilled outside of our family boundaries, where it was received with mixed results. My oldest sister once threw a high school party where she made delicious mint brownies with a special "something" — actually a powerful blue dye — thrown in with the other ingredients. The next day, my Mom & Dad fielded many worried calls from other parents who were angry that their children had eaten some strange food that made their bodies behave in interesting (but harmless) ways.

Though I'm not living as close to my family - and their sense of humor - as I used to, I still enjoy getting together with them when I can. I love to see my nieces and nephews and I try to be a good uncle for them. I hope they get to experience many of the same wonderful experiences I did.
